Dear customer,
As announced in the T7 Release 13.1 Release Notes, the publication of complex instruments via RDF (Reference Data File) and RDI (Reference Data Interface) with T7 Release 13.1 has changed. The change was introduced in the T7 Simulation environment on Monday, 31 March 2025 and will be implemented in the T7 Production environment starting Monday, 19 May 2025. This Newsflash provides detailed information about this important change and describes additional testing opportunities.
Details of the changes
Prior to the introduction of T7 Release 13.1, the initial publication of reference data for complex instruments occurred during system startup, alongside simple instruments.
Following the introduction of T7 Release 13.1, the startup generates an initial RDF file and RDI snapshot containing simple instruments only. The subsequent start-of-day process generates:
Furthermore, a change in the following fields (expected during start-of-day) may trigger Instrument Incremental messages for complex instruments with SecurityUpdateAction (980) M = Modify.
The following RDI fields remain unchanged, which are otherwise potentially subject to intraday change:
The T7 Release 13.1 Market & Reference Data Interfaces Manual (Chapter 11.2.3) has been updated (v3) to reflect these changes and can be found on the Eurex website www.eurex.com under the following path:
Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.1 > System Documentation > Market & Reference Data Interfaces.
On the first start-of-day, which will occur on Saturday, 17 May 2025, RDI will disseminate two Instrument Incrementals ("Add" followed immediately by "Modify") for each existing complex instrument. In the initial "Add" the new fields mentioned above will be empty. The subsequent "Modify" will include the new fields with the new values (if applicable). This behavior is expected and will not occur on subsequent start-of-day procedures.
Action required
Participants following the recommended reference data processing procedures, as described in the Market & Reference Data Interface Manual, do not need to take any action. Those participants processing only the initial system start file and snapshot must adapt their applications to include the start-of-day incremental files/messages to ensure complex instruments are received and processed.
Testing opportunities
To test the once only start-of-day behavior, which will occur in the production environment on Saturday, 17 May 2025 during the T7 Release 13.1 connection test window, two special start-of-day focus days will be provided in the T7 Release 13.1 Simulation on the following dates and times:
Following the start-of-day procedure at the aforementioned times, the initial start-of-day behavior will be applied for the following products:
Participants should ensure that their Reference Data applications are up and running during the start-of-day procedure.
The new daily system behavior in T7 Release 13.1 can be tested after each start-of-day following a rollover in the simulation environment. As the time for the start-of-day procedure in the T7 Simulation environment varies, Eurex will provide two additional T7 RDI Failure focus days at predefined times listed below. During these focus days, a new initial reference file and first incremental file containing all retained (or new) complex instruments will be generated.
More details on the T7 RDI Failure focus days can be found in the T7 Release 13.1 Participant Simulation Guide (Chapter 5.1.5), which can be found on the Eurex website www.eurex.com under the following path:
Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.1 > System Documentation > Simulation.
The additional T7 RDI failure focus days will take place on the following days:
