3. Details
Deutsche Börse Group will launch Release 13.1 of the T7 trading system on 19 May 2025. Please refer to the dedicated document “T7 Release 13.1 Final Release Notes” for a full overview of both the new and changed functional scope. The document is available on the dedicated initiative page via the path:
Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.1 > System Documentation > Overview and Functionality
A. Backwards compatibility
T7 Release 13.1 will provide backwards compatibility for the T7 ETI/FIX LF interface version 13.0, which means that even participants who do not want to use the new functionality will still be able to connect to T7 with the interface layout version 13.0 after the production launch of T7 Release 13.1.
Public market and reference data interfaces, including EOBI, EMDI, MDI, RDI/RDF, as well as reports and data files, will not provide backwards compatibility.
B. Preparations for Friday, 16 May 2025 and Saturday, 17 May 2025
On Friday, 16 May 2025, T7 Release 13.0 will be in production for the last time. Reports for the business day 16 May 2025 can be expected at the usual time.
On Saturday, 17 May 2025, Deutsche Börse will convert the T7 production system to Release 13.1 and initial reference data for business day 19 May 2025 will be available via RDI and RDF following the start of the system in preparation for the support window.
C. Support window and important information for T7 Release 13.1
This section details the upcoming support window and essential information for the T7 Release 13.1 production launch on Monday, 19 May 2025.
Support window on Saturday, 17 May 2025 (15:00 – 18:00 CEST)
Connectivity testing during the support window is strongly recommended for all participants and Multi-Member Service Providers to ensure connectivity for the start of trading on Monday, 19 May 2025. Please make sure that a staff member will be available to perform the login to the T7 production system (e.g. T7 Trader- and/or Admin GUI and third-party applications).
At this time, the T7 production system will be available for connectivity testing on the ETI, FIX LF, RDI, MDI, EMDI and EOBI interfaces and via T7 Admin-, T7 Clearer- and T7 Trader GUI. No order and quote entries will be possible.
Start of Day: During the support window, at approximately 15:30 CEST, all products in the T7 production systems will be set to “Start of Day” providing participants the opportunity to perform their regular start of day activities:
Market data:
After the start of day, product and instrument state change information messages are sent out. Thereafter, snapshots are sent out periodically (MDI, EMDI, EOBI) in addition to functional beacons or heartbeats via the incremental stream in EMDI and EOBI, respectively. Traders do not have access to the orderbook.
Please refer to the document “T7 Release 13.1 Market and Reference Data Interfaces Manual" (Section 9.11.0) for further details.
ETI and FIX LF:
Connection Test Message: During the support window, a message “Connection Test Eurex <hh:mm:ss>” appears with an increasing sequence number in the market news view (news board) of the T7 Trader GUI and the T7 Admin GUI.
FIX LF MsgSeqNum’s: Please note that after the connection test, MsgSeqNum’s (inbound and outbound) will not be reset upon the next start of day/start of the FIX Gateway. This point is documented in the “T7 Release 13.1 FIX LF Manual” in the section “5.10.2 Outage on T7 FIX LF Side”.
Support Window Updates: Deutsche Börse will inform participants about the general progress of the support window via implementation news on the Eurex website available under the path:
Support > Information Channels > Implementation News
Following the end of the support window, the T7 13.1 production system will be shut down on Saturday, 17 May 2025 at 18:00 CEST and will be unavailable until Sunday evening.
ETI Password Encryption: Important Change
For the production start of T7 Release 13.1 a new public key for ETI password encryption will be created. This key will have sequence number 3, making the key with sequence number 1 obsolete.
To ensure a smooth transition to T7 Release 13.1 in production, we strongly recommend migrating to the key with sequence number 2 immediately. A logon with the key with sequence number 1 will no longer be possible once the key with sequence number 3 is created.
Password encryption is only required within the Equinix co-location facility for the production environment. The encryption must be done using Deutsche Börse AG’s public RSA key. The latest public RSA key will be published prior to the connection test on Saturday, 17 May 2025 and can be downloaded from the ETI documentation website or obtained from a successful ETI session logon response message.

Update to the SecurityUpdateAction field of Complex Instruments and Initial Start of Day Behavior
With T7 Release 13.1, a change in the following fields (expected during start of day) may trigger Instrument Incremental messages for complex instruments with SecurityUpdateAction (980) M = Modify, effective
19 May 2025:
The following RDI fields, already subject to intraday changes via CI modification, remain unchanged:
The “Market & Reference Data Interfaces Manual” was updated to reflect these changes.
Initial Start of Day Behavior (Saturday, 17 May 2025 only):
Due to the implementation of these changes, on the first Start of Day (SOD) on Saturday, 17 May 2025 only, RDI will disseminate two Instrument Incrementals ("Add" followed immediately by "Modify") for each existing complex instrument. In the initial "Add" the new fields mentioned above will be empty. The subsequent "Modify" will include the new fields with the new values. This behavior is expected and will not occur on subsequent SODs.
D. Monday, 19 May 2025 – Production start
The first trading day with T7 Release 13.1 will start as usual.
Please note: As the system will be re-started Sunday evening after the connection test on Saturday, the initial reference data file for the business day 19 May 2025 will be re-generated. As the reference data provided on 17 May 2025 via RDI and RDF prior to the support window may potentially contain some changes, participants are required to use the initial reference data provided following the system start for 19 May 2025.
Orders entered until 16 May 2025 (end of trading) but not executed, will continue to be available on 19 May 2025, unless other validity restrictions were set.
A list of any items that are relevant prior to the production start of T7 Release 13.1 will be provided as of 16 May 2025. This “known limitations” list will be available on the dedicated initiative page via the path:
Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.1 > System Documentation > Production
